I strongly believe in designing for a purpose.
Designing My Way Through Life
Being a first-generation New Zealander often made me stand out in ways I didn’t want to. Looking different and not sounding like everyone else, I turned to what I knew best: art. It became my language, helping me connect when words failed. Whether illustrating title pages for classmates or doodling in the margins, design was my way of understanding the world and my place in it.
This passion led me to study digital design, where I explored fields like gaming, interaction, marketing, and ed-tech. But as much as I loved creating, I found myself asking, What’s the purpose here? I wanted my work to mean something, to make a difference.
During my time as a designer for an ed-tech company, I got to work on in-app product design while pioneering the use of Figma. This experience sparked my interest in UX design, a field that perfectly blends research and creativity. To dive deeper, I pursued formal studies in UX design and worked at a company where I applied my skills to solve real user problems.
Now, I’m focused on purposeful design—creating experiences that are not just visually appealing but also truly useful, improving lives one design at a time.
Life Beyond Design
In my spare time, as a creative at heart, you can usually find me immersed in illustration, photography, or collaborating with friends on passion projects. Beyond that, I enjoy unwinding at the cinema, staying active at the gym, gaming, or taking leisurely strolls in the park.
